As a professional dancer, Charly walked into her first Bikram Yoga class in 2004 confident and with a chip on her shoulder. She walked out forever changed, humbled and ready to take on this challenging series as a daily life practice. For the past 10+ years she has maintained a daily practice and has even competed in the NY Regional Asana Competition. Yet, it was not until 2010 when she endured a serious knee injury requiring two major surgeries that she really grasped the healing benefits of Bikram Yoga. Unable to put weight on her leg for months and “lock her knee” for a year, Charly started from scratch, healing herself not only physically, but mentally and spiritually. This seemingly tragic experience propelled her to embark on a teaching career with the hopes of giving back and inspiring students to never give up.
